Experience with us Morocco’s culture and art along with magic and adventure on this 12-day tour which starts in Casablanca and proceeds to the Imperial Cities and southern Morocco and then on to the blue city of Chefchaouen and Morocco’s Capital city, Rabat
Day 1 : Pick up at Casablanca airport
Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by your driver and tour guide who will take you directly to your hotel.
After having some rest, enjoy your first evening in Morocco and an overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2 : Casablanca to Marrakesh
After breakfast, you driver and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Hassan II Mosque. The Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, was built by Moroccan artisans from all over the Kingdom. The minaret is 60 stories high and has a laser pointing to Mecca on the top. Then drive to the City Center and the Old Medina plus the Corniche.
After the tour, you will head to the Imperial City of Marrakesh and then on to your hotel or riad for an overnight stay.
Day 3 : Marrakech City Tour
After a leisurely breakfast, you will meet your driver and private Marrakesh tour guide and begin a sightseeing tour of the city, also known as the ‘Red City’. The red color of the buildings is pervasive due to construction from local red sandstone.
Explore several historical palaces, museums and sites in the city, such as the walled Medina of Marrakesh, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
See the former palace of the Sultan, known as the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the old Jewish Synagogue and more.
Enjoy all the festivities in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the famous Djeema el Fna Square. Visit the artist’s landscape in the Majorelle Garden, once owned by Yves St. Laurent
At the end of the day, return to your riad/hotel.
Day 4 : Marrakesh Day Trip to Ourika Valley
After breakfast, your driver will pick you up and you will depart for a day trip to Ourika Valley.
You will head south and drive past the olive groves and then along the river as you head towards your destination. Beyond the rolling hills, you will see the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in the distance.
Enjoy lunch in the heart of Ourika Valley by the river before you head to the waterfalls of Setti Fatma. If you would like, you can take a short hike to the waterfall for some spectacular views.At the end of the day, your driver will drive you back to your riad/hotel in Marrakesh.
Day 5 : Marrakech to Ait BenHaddou
In the morning after a leisurely breakfast and some free time, depart Marrakech for Ait BenHaddou. When you leave Marrakesh, you will follow the picturesque and winding Tizi-n-Tichka pass through the High Atlas Mountains before you get to the central plains. You will have many opportunities to take pictures along the way.
When you reach Ait BenHaddou, your driver will take you to your Kasbah for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6 : Ait BenHaddou to Merzouga
In the morning, after breakfast, visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one of the best preserved kasbahs in southern Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Then, after your visit to the Kasbah, start your journey to the Sahara Desert. You will drive to Ouarzazate, the capital of the Sahara, and then through small Berber villages towards Errachidia. After Errachidia, you will see many large oases on either side of the road. After you drive through the village of Erfoud and Rissani, you will head towards Merzouga.
Merzouga is the gateway to Erg Chebbi, a huge expanse of sand dunes north of town
When you arrive, head directly to your auberge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7 : Sahara Desert
In the morning, after breakfast, you can explore the village and then your driver will give you a tour of the area in a 4-wheel drive where you can meet the Bedouins, the people who are native to the area. You can also observe the mudflats outside and view the enormous sand dunes.
Then prepare for your night in the desert. In the late afternoon, embark on a camel ride to go to the bivouac to watch the sun setting beyond the massive dunes.
Enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in your tent.
Day 8 : Merzouga to Fes
Today, wake up before dawn to watch the exquisite sunrise in the desert that rises to the east behind the dunes.
After breakfast in the camp, take a camel ride back to Merzouga and get ready for your next adventure.
Your driver will be waiting for you to start the journey to Fes which will take about 8 hours. When you leave Merzouga, you will drive through an oasis and then start to wind through the Middle Atlas Mountains. There will be spectacular scenery to view and feel free to stop at any point along the way.
Upon arrival in Fes, you will be driven to your riad/hotel.
Day 9 : Fes City Tour
After breakfast, your driver and private tour guide will pick you up for a sightseeing tour of Fes. Your tour will start from Fes-Jdid.
You will visit historical sites such as the Royal Palace, one of the oldest and largest in Morocco, the Mellah or Jewish quarter founded in 1438 and the first in Morocco, as well as the famous Merinid Tombs dating from the Merinid dynasty.
Later, you will enter the winding old and fortified city of Fes el Bali, proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. There you will see the magnificent mausoleum of Moulay Idriss and the medieval university of Karaouiyine, as well as the leather tanneries which have changed little in the last 1000 years.
After the tour, you will return to your riad/hotel for the evening.
Day 10 : Fes to Chefchaouen
After breakfast, the driver will pick you up from your riad and head to Chefchaouen. On your way, if you would like, you can stop in Volubilis to explore the ancient Roman ruins. Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is more than 2000 years old and is full of archaeological treasures with revelations about an ancient way of life.
If you choose to stop at Volubilis, you will arrive in Chefchaouen around 4pm. If you drive direct from Fes, you will arrive around 3pm.
When you arrive in Chefchaouen, your driver will take you to your riad and you are free to walk around the medina and the narrow cobbled lanes which are sometimes very steep.
Chefchaouen is known for the striking blue-washed buildings of its Old Town. In the main square, there is a red-walled Kasbah and many outdoor restaurants and coffees.
At the end of the day, return to your riad/hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 11 : Chefchaouen to Rabat
After breakfast, feel free to spend a few more hours in Chefchaouen. Then meet up with your driver and Tour guide and head to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city. Rabat was built along a river and the Atlantic Ocean and in addition to many government buildings, it has lots of gardens.
Upon arrival, your driver and tour guide and can give you a quick tour which would include the old Kasbah of the Udayas and the Hassan Tower with a 12th century minaret.
After the tour, your driver will take you to your riad/hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 12 : Transfer to Casablanca Airport
After breakfast, your driver and tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the airport in Casablanca for your return flight home.
